This is a big mash-up of some of the character art I've done to this still rough comic idea over the last 3 years.
This story is still really all over the place. So far there's pirates, magic, curses (or course) and the main theme is about how all of the classic fairy-tales are tired of living Happily Ever After. The pirate group has to save/or help them or something... I don't know where it's going... In theory it sounds kind of cool. I'm kind of focused on messing up the Disney versions of; Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Snow White, and a few others... I just know that the idea of a Dark!Side Sultan Aladdin (from this pic I did : [link]
) fighting against my characters as like, a chapter end boss battle, makes me grin like a freaking idiot.
SO... it's obvious this is one of those overly ambitious comic concepts that has roughly 15 characters as the main cast... I have a feeling I'll scrap all of this and do something else with it exactly 6 months from now... They still don't feel unique enough to me...
The General-ish bad ass chick who hunts pirates: Queen
The Second in command/Master Thief: Beau
The martial arts master Genie: Bujhal
The Rogue anti-social Fae : Mariania
The chain-smoking self-titled King of Pirates : Yar (his real name is Yasha... LOL!)
The Beast Mistress: Claire
The Book Keeper : Killer
And then there's;
There's the Queen of Diamonds from this old pic: [link]
And two characters who are werewolves and might not end up in the story... Who knows.
This sort of shows how my art has changed... Those overly detailed almost finished character profiles at the top are from early 2009... I like, can't do that style anymore... Anyway, I want to get into the habit of making those cool character sheets I see all over dA. I'm a big fan of 2D side-scrolling fighting games like; Dark Stalkers, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, and that recent one; Blazeblu. Those games are the main reason these Non-playable characters came to be. Now they have a bit of a story...
I should try to come up with something catchy and one-wordish for this stories title >O>!
Anyway, maybe I'll do expression sheets next...
