This is the second piece I did for theotaku.com's Breast Cancer Awareness contest.
Like before Rivkah's (the artist/writer of TOKYOPOP's Steady Beat) mother was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and since went through two operations to remove it. It'd reached her lymph nodes and essentially was to the point where it could kill her. She's currently fighting it off and this piece was meant to show JUST because things seem hopeless it doesn't mean you have to give up. I wanted to making something empowering but beautiful. Women need to love their bodies and take care of them and know how to watch for the signs of breast cancer. You owe it to yourself! Again Rivkah, this is for your mom! Kicking, screaming, and punching all the way she'll pull through  ! |
