This was done for theotaku.com's Breast Cancer Awareness contest.

I haven't had any real energy to draw much since this last move (and my glasses broke so working is really hard). Rivkah's (the artist/writer of TOKYOPOP's Steady Beat) mother was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and since went through two operations to remove it. It'd reached her lymph nodes and essentially was to the point where it could kill her. She's currently fighting it off and I just REALLY felt inspired to do something for her.

This is one of two pieces. It's the clearest picture I've had in my mind in a LONG time. It felt really good to do this and I finally feel myself getting back in the groove to draw!
