-Tempest and her Sun-

Okay this picture was really random. At least for me. Most of my art has something to do with one of my stories or is fanart or something. Today we get a CGed random sketch that I just happened to like a lot. I think my blue faze has ended, even though I wanted to use blue in the picture too, and I decided to go with some warm colors this time. I had the hardest time picking the color to shade with because it had blue in it. One thing I didn't want to do was have this cool/warm thing going on, on the actual character. I ended up using a blue/purple for the outer clouds to force your eye to the central figure. I used lots of purples, oranges, yellows, and some orange in this. There's a little bit of aqua in there too but it's not so apparent now. I really wish I knew how to render clouds better because I felt like I kept repeating the same pattern to show how puffy and voluminious they were. Oh well, this was good practice despite all of that and I REALLY like this picture. It makes me feel really warm. Reminds me of hugs from my mom. When my mother saw this she instantly said it reminded her of a womb. This really tight, but not closterphobically tight, warm, safe place. If the pic's composition seems kind of cramped to you that was intentional. I wanted to convey a really small warm place. But not make it uncomfortable. Hope I pulled it off okay.
